YOUR INVITED TO SAVE LIVES

On behalf of the Port Moresby General Hospital, we are pleased to invite you to the ANZ Corporate Blood Drive (CBD).

The ANZ Bank generously sponsors the Corporate Blood Drive. This is an initiative of the Port Moresby General Hospital designed to engage corporate and non-corporate entities of PNG in getting involved in a very vital community service. The ANZ Corporate Blood Drive is a friendly competition in who can donate the largest quantities from each company or organisation. Your valued donations will be delivered to the PMGH blood bank and will help many ill patients and save many lives. Show your support and get involved. We can’t do it without you!

By participating in the ANZ Corporate Blood Drive, competing organisations engage in a socially responsible activity, deliver a message of health to their employees, customers and facilitate a mini-health screening to donors. On the day, blood donors will receive the results of their haemoglobin (iron), sugar level, weight and blood pressure (BP), and have the option of calling the PMGH Blood Bank to find out the results of their blood test and blood type at a later date. In the end, everyone is a the winner – the donors, the recipients, and the companies. Who will donate the most this year and take home the trophy? We are sure it will be a fiercely contested event once again…

Here is how to organize a successful blood drive:

  •  Let’s agree on a date?
  • Book an internal large air-conditioned room e.g. a boardroom, a canteen, training room, that is large enough to accommodate four (4) donor beds, and two tables.
  • Advertise your blood drive internally, send out an e-mail, place posters (attached) on your notice board, and if possible arrange an internal competition between departments.
  • Have discussions about the importance of eating iron rich foods for successful blood donations.

How does it work?

Our team will arrive on the day around 9.30 am, and will need another 30 mins to set up. We will provide all the necessary equipment and refreshments.  If possible, please leave two tables and 8-10 chairs in the room which will save our team valuable time and effort carrying furniture out of the bus.

While we will provide water, cordial and biscuits on the day, you are most welcome to supply other refreshments: fruit, sandwiches, juices etc.

Getting involved will save lives, allow your team to get feedback on their health, engage in corporate and personal social responsibility and feel good overall.
